Checklist before every burial

• 72 hours' notice at minimum. Expedited scheduling may be possible for an added fee.
• Burial permit required by Ohio law (ORC 3705.17), delivered before the burial.
• Right of disposition. Written instructions from the person legally entitled to decide.
• Embalming is not required. Refrigeration or dry ice is preferred. If embalming is necessary, use only a nontoxic product approved by the Green Burial Council and confirm the product to us in writing. Remains embalmed with any other product are not accepted.
• Container approved in advance. Untreated wood, wicker, cardboard or natural fiber shroud. No metal, plastic, synthetic liners or toxic finishes. We may set size and weight limits for safe hand lowering.
• Natural clothing only, without synthetic fabric, elastic, plastic or metal parts.
• Device removal confirmed in writing. Pacemakers and any battery-powered, pressurized, radioactive or hazardous device removed.
• No vault or grave liner.
• Payment of cemetery charges in full before the burial, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Services may be moved for weather, frozen or flooded ground, prescribed burns or unsafe access. We will call you as early as we can.
