Plan ahead for a green burial

Make your wishes known, take your time, and give your family one less thing to decide.

Why plan ahead

Choosing a green burial ahead of time spares your family hard decisions later. It also gives you time to walk the land, ask every question, and pick a place that feels right.

There is no rush and no sales pitch. Take the time you need.

How planning ahead works

  1. Send us a message or call

    Use the form below or call (330) 681-0008. Tell us a little about what you are looking for.

  2. We reply and answer your questions

    We will get back to you by your preferred way, usually by phone or email. We can send our Rules and price list, and talk through anything you are unsure about.

  3. Visit the land

    Walk the site with us, see where burials are happening, and talk about what you want. Tours are by appointment.

  4. Choose your burial right

    We will show you where available spaces are. Ascend chooses the exact grave layout, spacing and orientation, so the land can be cared for well.

  5. Sign your agreement and pay for your plot

    You will receive a written agreement and a copy of our Rules. You pay $2,800 for your plot at this step. You purchase a burial right, which is the right to be buried in that space. You do not buy the land itself. Opening and closing, currently $1,500 and subject to change, is paid later at the time of burial.

  6. Tell your family

    Share your wishes and our phone number with the people who will make arrangements. Let your chosen funeral home know too.

Payments and agreements are handled with us directly, not through this website.

What a burial space includes

A standard adult burial space is 10 feet by 10 feet. Each space can hold:

  • one full-body burial, or
  • one full-body burial and one burial of cremated remains, or
  • two burials of cremated remains.

That means a couple can share one space if one person chooses cremation.
